Job Readiness Services
OEWD is supporting an array of workforce development initiatives in several priority industry sectors that have been identified through its 2009 Strategic Plan. To that end, OEWD is now administering the Job Readiness Services (JRS) Initiative - which aims to remediate barriers residents may be facing to training and/or employment. The JRS Initiative complements OEWD’s Sector Strategy which is designed to improve the responsiveness of the workforce system to meet the demands of sustainable and growing industries, providing employers with skilled workers and expanding employment opportunity for San Francisco residents. This dual customer approach is designed to be flexible and responsive to the changing needs of the labor market.
Services Provided to Low-Income Jobseekers:
• Intensive case management
• Must be 18 years of age and older, low-income, and unable to access employment or vocational training opportunities due to one or more individual barriers to employment.
