The Access Points are designed to provide a comprehensive approach to career planning and job search services in order to better assist job seekers with finding employment as quickly as possible.

Comprehensive and Neighborhood Access Points provide the following services:

  •      ·         Job search assistance 

         ·         Career exploration and planning 

         ·         Job preparation workshops 

         ·         Training opportunities 

         ·         Access to computers, fax, and copy machines 

         ·         Unemployment information 

         ·         Supportive services, including childcare and transportation

Frequently Asked Questions 

What services are available at the Comprehensive and Neighborhood Access Points?

The Access Points provide employment-based services to job seekers that include job search techniques, career counseling, and job search assistance. Calendars with workshops and events for each site can be found on the Access Points Locations and Hours page. 

The additional Neighborhood Access Points provide support with job search and skill development, help job seekers tap into training programs for today's job market, and prepare individuals to go back to work.

  

How much does it cost to participate in Access Point services and programs?

There is no charge for Access Point services for job seekers. 

 

Why is registration necessary for services?

Registration allows job seekers to have greater access to the Access Point system. Membership gives the job seeker access to services at any of the Access Points located throughout San Francisco.  

 

Can Access Points assist job seekers with finding full-time employment?

Yes, the Comprehensive and Neighborhood Access Points are available to assist job seekers with finding full-time employment. Access Point staff provide guidance on how to register with HIRESF.org and to engage with other online job search engines. Staff assist individuals with identifying whether they will require job readiness and/or life skills workshops prior to receiving placement assistance services. 

  

Do the Access Points provide job training?

A career advisor assists job seekers with identifying a variety of training programs to enroll in based on eligibility.

  

Is information kept confidential?

All information provided to the Access Points is kept confidential.
